    Locally owned and operated, Sansa Air offers daily shuttle flight service from the San Jose International Airport to the Tambor Airport. This is a short 30 minute flight. Upon arrival at the Tambor Airport, you will be greeted by a member of our Palacio Staff who will transport you and the members of your party to PalacioTropical in the air-conditioned comfort of our passenger van.

  • By Land

    We will be happy to arrange transportation from the airport via a charter van or bus service. The five to eight hour trip through the lush countryside is a beautiful way to see Costa Rica.

  • Car Rental

    Car rentals are available at the airport and rates are quite reasonable. However, the winding Costa Rican roads and the unfamiliar territory can make the five to eight hour trip taxing on the first time and travel-weary visitor. If you decide to take another transportation route, but would like to have a vehicle during your stay at Palacio Tropical, we will be happy to assist you arranging a rental car for your stay.

  • Taxi

    Taxi service is available at the, San Jose airport. Rates are very reasonable. Micro van taxis are available for large parties.

  • By Sea

    After a short taxi ride from San Jose to the port of Puntarenas, the ferry will carry you across the beautiful Gulf of Nicoya, where a member of our Palacio Staff will greet you in passenger van. The ferry ride takes only an hour and a half, but with the added car travel time on both sides of the trip, this route to Palacio Tropical will take about five to eight hours. Still, if you have the time, and want to see Costa Rica from every beautiful vantage point, we highly recommend it!
