Weather
Located just 10 degrees north of the equator, Costa Rica is one of
the sunniest climates in the world. In the Pacific Coast region of
Tambor, where Palacio Tropical is located, temperatures range from
the low 70s to the high 80s, depending on the season. March and
April are the warmest months, and November through January are the
coolest. But don't be fooled by the cool breezes; the tropical sun
is intense no matter the season or temperature, so don't forget your
sunscreen. -
Language
Spanish is the official language of Costa Rica, but you'll find plenty of Americans, both tourists and full time residents (who refer to themselves as “Expats”), more than willing to help you with translations. And the locals (or Ticos, as they like to call themselves) love to practice their English. Still, you will find it helpful -- and fun! -- To polish up on your Spanish skills prior to your trip. It doesn't matter if you mispronounce a word or two ... the Ticos consider it a great compliment when you make even the smallest effort to communicate with them in their home language.

Clothing
In Costa Rica, casual is as casual does. Shorts, bathing suits,
sandals, jeans, tee shirts and a good pair of hiking shoes are all
you really need. The nightlife dress is casual, too, even in the
upscale resorts, restaurants and casinos. -
